Fishing clubs in the Northern Territory offer family friendly environments to connect with like minded people, particpate in events and share knowledge.  The following NT clubs have partnered with AFANT to become affiliated membership clubs, with all financial club members, also considered an affiliate member of AFANT.

 

Established in the late 1970’s, the Darwin Game Fishing Club is a community based, family friendly amateur fishing club accommodating all levels of anglers.  The DGFC is the home of the nationally renowned NT Barra Classic, NT Junior Barra Classic, NT Billfish Classic and the Dundee Billfish Bash.  The DGFC also proudly host the annual Darwin Boat Show in September.

The Darwin Game Fishing Club meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Darwin Trailer Boat Club from 7pm.

Palmerston Game Fishing Club Inc is a community club bringing together like-minded people in a safe and friendly environment. The PGFC has a strong family focus and encourages family fishing and education of junior anglers in safe and enjoyable fishing practices.  The PGFC also hosts monthly club events for fishing enthusiasts to compete for club points and the coveted annual Angler of the Year. 
PGFC is the home of Australia’s premier Barramundi fishing tournament: the Barra Nationals and Northern Territory’s only all-women fishing tournament: SWB Barra Challenge.

The statement ‘come for the fishing – stay for the lifestyle’ says much about the King Ash Bay Fishing Club. It’s not all about Barramundi, each dry season (commencing around Easter), the King Ash Bay community swells with the arrival of members and visitors who come to enjoy the great ‘winter’ weather, the fishing and the lifestyle. Many others drop in for a few days or a few weeks as part of a more extensive visit to Northern Australia. The Groote Eylandt Game Fising Club is located at the Alyangula Golf Club in Alyangula, Groote Eylandt.  The GEGSFC offers a family friendly place to meet friends and share the local knowledge.  Groote Eylandt is an ultimate destination for Northern Australia sports fishing, specialising in big game fishing.  The Groote Eylandt Game Fising Club is host to the GEGSFC Annual Billfish Comp and the very popular Annual GEGSFC Ladies Comp.

The Katherine Game Fishing club is located at the gateway to the acclaimed Katherine, Victoria, Roper and Daly River regions of the Northern Territory.  As active participants in the many Katherine community activities and events, the KGFC also runs family friendly competitions and kids fishing clinic days, including the famous Big Horse Barra Classic.

The Nhulunbuy Regional Sports Fishing Club (Gove Fishing Club) was originally established to promote and support sports fishing, the recreational pastime of chasing big game fish in and around the East Arnhem Region. The NRSFC hosts a family friendly club for locals and visitors and holds many events including the Walkabout John Jones Memorial billfish competition and Junior fishing competitions.  Their club rooms are located in the CCC Building Nhulunbuy.

Darwin Flyrodders are the home of Darwins fly fishing experts, enthusiasts and new comers.  Playing host to many fly fishing educational events covering tying and casting throughout the year, as well as fly fishing tournaments they are the club for those with preference to the finer art of waving a long wand.  DFR host the Northern Territory Saltwater Fly Fishing Challenge and the Northern Territory Fly Fishing Open on Corroboree Billabong.

The Dundee Social and Recreational Club is a community based social and recreation club situated in the beautiful Dundee Beach, of the Northern Territory.  The club bar and locally renowned kitchen are open every Friday night from 5pm, meal prices start at $15.  Playing host to various social events through out the year, visitors and new members are welcome.

The NT Dolphins are the pioneering Skin Diving and Spear Fishing club of the Northern Territory.  For the adventurous fisher, ready to traverse the green depths of Territory waters, this is the club to meet like minded people.  The club meets on the third Tuesday of the month in Darwin.  For more information contact the club via their website or social media platforms.
