AFANT is thrilled to announce our partnership with SeaLink for the 2026 June-July school holidays. This initiative offers young Territorians a free ferry ride across Darwin Harbour to enjoy a day of fishing at the iconic Mandorah Jetty.
Mandorah Jetty has long been one of the Top End’s favourite land-based fishing destinations. It’s a unique location where a variety of quality fish including tuna, mackerel, queenfish, trevally and barramundi can be targeted from the shore.
Through our partnership, SeaLink are generously providing 20 free student return ferry passes each day during the school holidays, giving students and families a fun and affordable opportunity to visit one of the best land-based fishing locations in Australia.
Registration for the free student tickets is essential.
Children under 5 do not require a ticket or a free school holiday pass to travel on the Darwin-Mandorah ferry. All children under 12 must be accompanied by a fare-paying adult.
With the popularity of land-based fishing at an all-time high, this initiative is about making fishing more accessible at a time when many students and families are looking for budget-friendly school holiday activities.
Fishing is the Territory’s number one outdoor pastime. It gets kids outside, connects them with nature, builds patience and practical skills, and gives families and friends a chance to spend quality time together.
